The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis contract with Cummins-Wagner, 10901 Pump House Road, Annapolis Junction, MD 20701. For the purchase of two (2) Chilled Water Pump rebuild kits at the NIST Gaithersburg campus under the authority of statutory authority for this sole source acquisition is FAR 13.501(a.) by the authority of FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures.

The NIST lab (OFPM) Steam and Chilled Water Generation Plant has a requirement for two (2) OEM rebuild kits for the Central Utility Plant’s Bell and Gossett chilled water pumps at NIST Central Utility Plant Building 302. The contractor shall deliver a quantity of two (2) Chilled Water Pump rebuild kits, inclusive of FOB destination delivery. All items must be new. Used or remanufactured equipment will not be considered for award. Experimental, protype, or custom items will not be considered. Cummins-Wagner Co. is the exclusive Manufacturer’s Representative in the Maryland, Washington D.C., Lower Delaware, Northern Virginia, and eastern tip of the West Virginia region, and the only source authorized to provide these rebuild kits.

The NAICS Code is 423720 with a small business size standard of 500 employees.

Interested parties that believe they could satisfy the requirement listed above for NIST may clearly and unambiguously identify their capability to do so in writing on or before the response date of this notice. This notice of intent is not a solicitation. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether competitive procedures could be used for this acquisition.
