Our Company is bidding on a project (Ballenger Creek Interconnect Pump Station) in the City of Frederick, MD. This project bids on 12/1/22 and I was wondering if we would need a City of Frederick, MD license just to bid on this project?

Answer No, you and any subcontractors would need to be able to obtain all required licenses and permits before construction could start.

Vertical rebar is shown on A drawings but there is no spacing requirement. Should we assume vertical rebar is only required in corner installation? Please provide additional information.
Answer

  • Provide #4@32” vertical bars in full-height grouted cells as typical reinforcement . Dowels into foundation must match vertical wall bars.

  • Provide (3) full-height grouted cells with #4 vertical bars at each building corner, (1) bar in the corner cell, and (1) in each adjacent cell.

  • Provide (2) full-height grouted cells with #4 vertical bars at each opening.

Please advise as to the Disinfection Requirements needed to clean the system prior to the pump station being tied in and coming online.
Answer Follow disinfection practices recommended in current AWWA Standards C651 for Disinfection of Water Mains and C653 for Disinfection of Water Treatment Plants , as applicable.
