Scope

It is the intent of Montgomery County, Maryland Department of Correction and Rehabilitation requires various supplies for correctional use. The following are specifications for the items required.

GROUP 1 - CLOTHING
Item # 1
Inmate Coveralls / Jumpsuits: Jumpsuit must be made of at least seven and on-half (7.5) ounces of heavy weight, industrial finish fabric that is at least 35% combed cotton and 65% polyester.? The fabric must be colorfast, easy-care permanent press, and capable of withstanding repeated laundry cycles.??? The coverall / jumpsuit must be available in solid colors of dark forest green, light grey, red, white, and khaki brown/tan.? No screening or printing of name, logo, or number is required.
The coverall / jumpsuit construction must utilize a full cut pattern, with dual heavy duty thread in all seams, reinforced crotch and waistband, and strain points must be bar-tacked and reinforced.? The coverall / jumpsuit must have a snap front closure with heavy duty metal stainless steel or similar metal that is guaranteed not to rust.? No zippers or buttons will be accepted.? The coverall / jumpsuit must have a set on collar, no elastic waistband, one breast pocket on the left side, no side opening, bi-swing back, hemmed short sleeves and hemmed bottoms. See Exhibit 1 for a picture of the current jumpsuit.

The suicide safety smock must be made with heavy-duty polyester fabric that is lockstitch quilted to a polyester inner batting. The smock must be constructed to reduce the risk of accidental opening and exposure and fit all sizes up to 300 lbs in a range of sizes from juvenile to 5XL. The smock must be available in a smaller size with armholes to allow more modest coverage for smaller individuals. The smock fabric must be water resistant to shed soiling but sturdy enough to withstand normal laundering procedures.
