Description

This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested.

The National Institute of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC), intends to solicit a quote and enter into firm-fixed price to purchase Evoqua deionized water system, with EVOQUA.

The Clinical Center requires Evoqua’s deionized water system to obtain consistent, high-purity water from potable feed water. Evoqua’s reliable SDI system consists of activated carbon and ion exchange resin contained in portable tanks connected directly to the clinical centers tap water supply as well as a double filtration system. Evoqua’s service deionization also conserves the water and energy resources because there is no major capital investment or handling of chemicals. In order to prolong the life of the surgical instruments and prevent surgical site infections in patients this system is required.

This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the acquisition of commercial items prescribed in FAR Part 12, in conjunction with the policies and procedures for the competition requirements of Part 6. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
