The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Contracts Department, Patuxent River, MD in support of NAVAIR Propulsion and Power, intends to negotiate a delivery order under Basic Ordering Agreement FA8122-19-G-0001 on a sole source basis with General Electric (GE), 1000 Western Ave, Lynn, MA 01902 for material and parts (1,499 Kits) for a buy of improved Main Fuel Manifold Tubes and B-Nuts for the F414 engine, GE kit Part Number 1953T20. The new attachment system will help B-Nuts from backing off and preveing possible leaks. Similar B-nut ECPs (e.g A-18, C-32, C-31) attack similar B-nut interfaces, all of which have been linked to possible fires and safety related events. The Government intends to procure under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1), FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.

General Electric is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and the only contractor with the requisite knowledge and experience of the current F414 engine required for this effort.
