The Defense Health Agency (DHA), Northeastern Markets Contracting Division (NM-CD), on behalf of Department of Pathology located at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, 8901 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, MD, 20889 under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 251 as implemented in FAR 8.405-6(b)(2) – “Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the Agency Requirements,” intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price, Sole Source Delivery Order for the Department of Pathology at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC), Bethesda, Maryland.
The Department of Pathology at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) current function is being performed with the Ortho Vision Analyzer for Transfusion Service requires an automated blood bank analyzer that performs the full range of immunohematology testing, including crossmatches, (selected and full) cell panels, antigen testing and serial dilutions for titration studies. The analyzer automates blood bank test processes including liquid pipetting, reagent handling, incubation, centrifugation, reaction grading and interpretation. Unacceptable delays in fulfilling the Transfusion Service requirement could cause unnecessary cost, stoppage of service and possible fatalities to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center patients. Ortho Clinical Diagnostics is the only provider of blood bank analyzer for the immunohematology testing that meets transfusion Service’s needs.
The Government intends to award a new Delivery Order to Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, Inc., for the Ortho Vision Analyzer required by Department of Pathology at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC).
Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, Inc., 1001 Us Highway 202, Raritan, New Jersey, 08869-1424 is the authorized seller of the Ortho Vision Analyzer. The cost of the five-year Delivery Order is estimated at $842,530.85. The associated NAICS code applicable to this requirement is 325413, In-Vitro Diagnostics Substance Manufacturing.
This notice of intent to award a sole source Delivery Order is not a request for competitive proposals. There will be no Request for Quote (RFQ) or Solicitation available for competition. Phone calls will not be accepted. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes; however, the government will consider responses to this notice within five (5) days of this posting. Interested parties, may express their interest, and provide a capabilities statement NLT Monday, 18 March 2024 at 10:00 AM EST. The point of contact for this action is Phong Q.
