Description

This is a notice of intent, NOT a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will NOT be issued, and quotations will NOT be requested.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a fixed price contract to Advanced Cell Diagnostics Incorporation Newark, California 94560 on a sole source basis to provide specialized RNA probes.

The purpose of this requirement is to procure specialized RNA probes. Advanced Cell Diagnostics makes highly specific probes for localizing RNA sequencing within individua cells. These kits are proprietary and are the only kits compatible with this system. There is also a consideration of experimental consistency and reproducibility that arises due to consistency of method. Therefore, it is a paramount importance that the method be kept as similar as possible to reduce variability between runs and to enhance reproducibility and reliability of results, thus ensuring integrity.

This order is a part of a major forward thrust both within out lab and in biological research in general to solidify, and make useful, the upcoming spatial biology research methods to enable enhanced translation.

The proposed vendor, Advanced Cell Diagnostics Incorporation, is the sole distributor of the following systems of which are included in this order:

• RNAScope probes and reagent kits


• BaseScope probes and reagents kits


• DNAScope probes and reagents


• miRNAScope probes and reagents


• RNA-Protein Co-Detection Ancillary Kits


• HybEZ hybridization systems


• EZ-Batch slide processing systems

This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 – Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements.

Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
