Description

This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested.

The National Institute of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC), intends to solicit a quote and enter into firm-fixed price to purchase Luminex XMAP Intelliflex DRSE EA, with Thermo Fisher Scientific.

The Frank laboratory major research initiative is in the area of using focused ultrasound (FUS) to alter the molecular biological response in tissues. We are currently studying the bioeffects of ultrasound across a range of normal and diseased tissues such as brain, kidney, muscle, and tumors. Accordingly, the lab requires ultrasound instrumentation that implements state-of-the-art delivery and monitoring capabilities.

The Frank Lab will purchase an Invitrogen Luminex xMAP Intelliflex to perform RNA studies that are currently lacking in the Frank Lab research. This will allow the lab to have the capability to directly select mRNA from samples without needing to purify the RNA and to measure protein expression from small samples.

This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the acquisition of commercial items prescribed in FAR Part 12, in conjunction with the policies and procedures for the competition requirements of Part 6. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.

Comments to this announcement, referencing this posting number, may be submitted to the CC, Office of Purchasing and Contracts, prior to the closing date, May 17, 2023 at 12:00 PM EST specified in this announcement, electronically to the attention of Noelle DeCenzo, Contract Specialist, Noelle.decenzo@nih.gov by the due date and time marked in this notice.
