Description View Changes

NOTE: I WILL BE POSTING MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE BATTFERY SOON. PLEASE KEEP AN EYE FOR UPDATES. THIS ACTION HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO THE 17TH OF NOV.

Q&A:

  1. Do you have the serial # of each UPS?

    1. BN183FBB01

    2. BN192GAA09

    3. BN192GAA07

    4. BN192GAA12

    5. BN183FBB02

    6. BN192GAA06

    7. BN192GAA13

    8. BN192GAA14

  2. Do you have a count of batteries in each cabinet?

    1. The original purchase contract stated 44 units of 9155-12-15_64Batt . I don’t feel comfortable opening up the systems to check myself. (N0042119P0259)

3. Is there a maintenance bypass on each UPS? If not, are shutdowns acceptable, or are temps needed? There are bypasses but we would likely do a partial shutdown of our equipment as an additional safeguard to protect sensitive components.

4. Is there a loading dock with storage for existing batteries for a few days while we wait for a waste vendor to pick up and recycle batteries? There is a loading dock

5. Are there any special clearances/procedures required to access the site? The technicians should be US citizens and will need to get visitor access.

6. RFG mentions delivery date of 2/1/2024. If Eaton cannot provide new batteries by then, will an extension of time be granted? The hard deadline for this job is 6/1/2024. We would prefer to have the batteries repaired before spring storms start popping up.

7. Any photos of units would be helpful. (SEE ATTACHMENTS)

TO CLARIFY IN CASE VENDORS ARE CONFUSED:

  1. That the contracted company would replace all the batteries within the UPS system. Based on specs from the OEM, that would be 44 battery units.

  1. The contracted company would be responsible for delivery and installation of new batteries along with environmentally compliant disposal of the old units.

The setup is per company spec and is easily accessible to maintain.

Solicitation N0042124Q0025 is issued as an intent to sole source. The Government under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) FAR Part 13 intends to purchase on a firm fixed-price basis, and to solicit and award the proposed purchase order on a sole source basis with Eaton, under the authority implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13.106-1(b). Eaton is only available directly from the manufacturer.

Offerors must be currently registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database prior to submission of an offer to be considered for award of any DoD contract. This may be accomplished electronically at http://www.sam.gov.

NOTE: If vendors are to bid, you must be able to provide Data Rights in order for bids to be accepted.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The government will not pay for any information received.

If a bid is received from another vendor, you must be an authorized distributer with Eaton and will need to be able to keep Eaton Systems Warranty and provide Data Rights.

All responses shall be submitted via email to Annie Bohmann at annie.n.bohmann.civ@us.navy.mil no later than 11/10/2023 5pm.
