NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Sealed proposals addressed to the Mayor and City Council of Cumberland, Maryland will be received at the Office of the City Clerk, City Hall, until but not after 2:00 p.m., local time, on 8/23/2023. Proposals will be publicly opened and read at 2:30 p.m. on that date in City Hall Council Chambers. All proposals must be submitted in duplicate in a sealed envelope, plainly marked on the outside thereof,
REPAIRS TO BRIDGE A-C-01 MCMULLEN BRIDGE CITY PROJECT NO. 18-16-BR
This project includes:
The project involves various repairs on McMullen Bridge including replacement of multiple sections of pedestrian sidewalk, and associated drainage components (trench drain, cleanouts), replacement of roadway joint compression seals and angles, repair of delaminated and loose concrete and spalls at substructure and superstructure components (abutment, backwalls, wingwalls and girders), localized parapet replacement, and associated traffic control measures.
A "MANDATORY PREBID SESSION" for the purpose of answering or obtaining answers to questions of parties interested in performing the work, relative to construction details, will be conducted at 9:00 a.m. on 8/9/2023 at the Engineering Dept. Conference Room.
A Proposal Guaranty (Bond or Certified Check) in the amount of at least 5% of the total bid shall be submitted with each bid.
The successful bidder will be required to submit a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, for all construction contracts in excess of $100,000, at the time the contract is executed.
The Mayor and City Council reserve the right to waive any technicalities and to reject any or all bids, and to accept any or all proposals which in their judgment is to the best interest of the City.
