Question
Does Frederick County also withdraw from Lake Linganore?
Answer
According to Frederick County (Ken Orndorff, Superintendent Division of Water and Sewer Utilities Department of Water Purification and Distribution), they currently have a valid state water appropriation and use permit. They have not used that plant in over 10 years and if they needed too, it would require a major plant renovation. Their withdrawal permit is limited to a daily average of 300,000 and a max daily withdrawal of 2.0 mgd.

Question
For the alternative site location, do you have any sites in mind?
Answer
The City is looking for the proposers to give recommendations. Preferably, it would be around the area of the City’s Department of Public Works (DPW) building, located at 111 Airport Drive East Frederick, MD 21701. There is an adjacent area to the Linganore Water Plant that could be used for the “adjacent site location”.
