The Cecil County Detention Center Medication Supported Recovery (DC-MSR) project aims to
expand access to treatment services for individuals with an Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) with emphasis
on continuity of care and reduced overdose incidents. The Project will identify individuals with OUD
and offer Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD), as well as re-entry planning, peer support,
coordination, and counseling. The program will build on successful collaborations and ongoing
cooperation between partner agencies and stakeholders, including the Cecil County Detention Center
(CCDC), PrimeCare Medical Inc., the Cecil County Health Department (CCHD), and local behavioral
health treatment providers. The project aims to reduce gaps in services for individuals at risk of
overdose and provide linkages to community-based services post incarceration.
