WSSC Water is launching this RFI to gain a better understanding of implementation timelines, estimated costs and requirements for a banking services transition. WSSC Water is a bi-county agency and public corporation of the State of Maryland, established in 1918. WSSC Water is rated AAA by all three of the major Wall Street credit rating agencies and is currently among the largest water and wastewater utilities in the nation, with a network of nearly 6,000 miles of drinking water pipeline and over 5,600 miles of sewer pipeline. Our service area spans nearly 1,000 square miles in Prince George’s and Montgomery counties, and we serve 1.9 million residents through approximately 475,000 customer accounts. WSSC Water drinking water has always met or exceeded federal standards. Our total authorized headcount is approximately 1,800 positions with a total estimated annual payroll of $170 million. Our FY23 adopted operations budget is $864.6 million and our adopted capital budget is 604.8 million. Our annual contractual spend is approximately $500 million.
